I can’t seem to find a straight answer on this. What are the differences (if any) in anti-reflective, anti-fingerprint, anti-smudge, and anti-glare?? Every piece of information I find ends up as a sales pitch. Can you clarify things for me?

Touch guy thought that the new fad of taking and sharing selfies meant everyone wanted to see themselves (a lot), so he wonders why there are so many requests for anti-reflective/anti-fingerprint films (AR/AF) on his products. He is so out-of-touch (haha). Ok, enough cracking myself up. What customers want when they ask for AR coatings […]

Our team is developing a touch module for boats. This thing will be getting a healthy dose of sun, water, and sometimes saltwater. At the same time, it will need to do everything from finding fish to navigating the open seas, giving system diagnostics, and providing entertainment. I understand water can be a problem for touch screens. Why is that? What’s the best solution for me?

Ahoy Mate! Nautical displays have traditionally topped the list of most difficult touch applications. It seems that boats and ships just have it in for touch. Touch International is an expert in all of the ways to assemble and laminate p-cap touch sensors including OCA or optically clear adhesive using pressure and heat, DFA or dry film adhesive using vacuum and heat, OCR or optically clear resin, using heat and UV […]

“Hey Touch Guy, why can’t the military use projected capacitive?” – Ready, aim, fire!

Whoa, simple question — complex answer. First, the “military” does use projected capacitive (p-cap for short), and purchases a huge number of iPads and iPhones.  But I think your question is, “Can the military use p-cap in a battlefield environment.”  Yes, there are problems that have slowed the introduction of p-cap.  Here are a few […]
