Touch International Recommits Austin Headquarters as Part of Expansion Effort and Development Plan

Austin, TX – April 12 , 2011 – As part of a $10 million expansion effort and technology development plan aimed at bolstering touch screen production and improving manufacturing automation, touch screen developer, Touch International, announced today it has renewed the lease agreement for its Austin, TX headquarters facility, extending through 2016.

This announcement comes just one week after the opening of the company’s new 50,000 ft² manufacturing facility in Shenzhen, China.

“Touch International is in the midst of a strategic, world-wide expansion effort which will double our touch screen manufacturing capacity and improve our facilities to ensure that we are well positioned to meet market demands,” explains Michael Woolstrum, Touch International CEO and co-founder.

In Austin, Touch International is currently in negotiations to add class 1 clean rooms to its 52,600 ft² Rundberg Lane facility to better support its military, medical and aerospace customers. By expanding its clean room facilities, Touch International will improve its manufacturing automation and boost its high-mix, low-volume touch screen production, while protecting the quality and reliability of its specialty displays.

“Expanding Austin’s factory brings more capacity in our design, development and value-add solutions for our specialty markets and products,” says Woolstrum. “Concurrently, increasing factory capabilities in China gives us a vertically integrated system, which will give us greater capacity for high volume product lines. Overall, Touch International remains poised to capitalize on world-wide touch screen market growth.”
