Anti-Smudge / Anti-Fingerprint
Adding anti-smudge / anti-fingerprint (AFP) coating decreases fingerprint visibility on plastic or glass surfaces. AFP combined with oleophobic /hydrophobic coatings further improves usability, offers scratch and water resistance, and allows for easy cleaning on touch surfaces. Touch International now offers this custom solution as standard for any customer /applications requiring anti-fingerprint properties.
AFP is applicable on the surface of glass, plastic sheet or film in an optical class 1 clean room environment.
Depending on application requirements additional quality coatings are available that can provide resistance to industrial & food service chemicals such as acetone, isopropyl alcohol, vinegar, coffee, tea, cooking oil and various other household and commercial products.
Features
- Reduce fingerprint smudging
- Water & oil resistant
- Improved dynamic coefficient of friction (slippage)
- Residue minimization
- Easier to clean
- Can be combined with other coatings such as hard coating or anti-reflective coating
- Scratch resistant
Applications & Industries
Anti-Glare / Anti-Smudge
Working well in direct sunlight applications, Touch International’s anti-glare (AG) /anti-reflective (AR) films or coatings can be applied to glass and plastic substrates to reduce surface reflections and scatter specular reflections into a wide viewing cone. The anti-glare film also improves scratch resistance.
Anti-Glare filters add enhanced glare resistance to anti-reflective surfaces and are often used in many different kinds of displays and can be applied to both glass and plastic substrates.
AR
An Anti-reflective coating is a type of optical coating applied to the surface of lenses and other optical elements to reduce reflection. In typical imaging systems, this vastly improves the efficiency of the optic by increasing transmission, enhancing contrast, and eliminating ghost images.
Most AR coatings are also very durable, with resistance to both physical and environmental damage. For these reasons, the vast majority of transmissive optics includes some form of anti-reflection coating. When specifying an AR coating to suit a specific application awareness of the full spectral range for the system is required. While an AR coating can significantly improve the performance of an optical system, using the coating at wavelengths outside the design wavelength range could potentially decrease the performance of the system.
As well as reducing reflection and increasing transmittance AR coating also enhances the overall performance of an optical surface by saving the power consumption of backlight of an LCD/LED.
AG
Anti-glare (AG) is more commonly referred to when it comes to glass substrates.
Special glass is now manufactured especially for the electronics display industry with high-performance anti-glare solution.
These glasses are ideal for high-resolution applications in adverse conditions which require the best in anti-glare properties: low sparkle, low haze, and ultra-high resolution.
Glare from “glossy” displays can cause undue eyestrain and fatigue but utilizing an Anti-glare glass panel in touch displays, reflections can be diffused allowing the user to focus on the screen rather than the reflected images. This AG coating solution will offer durability in non-environmental friendly conditions.
