Touch International Hires V.P. to Drive Expansion in US and Asia

Austin, TX – February 11, 2009 – Touch International, a leading touch screen manufacturer based in Austin, Texas, introduced today Cathy Getz as Vice President, Engineering and Product Development. In this capacity, she will lead the company’s product development and expansion efforts in America and Asia.

“Cathy has led the touch industry in many new firsts – the introduction of capacitive technology used in lottery, ATM and other public applications. She was instrumental in developing touch-related products used in POS check out terminals. Most recentlyCathy Getz, she was key in developing iPhone touch screen sensing technology,” said Michael Woolstrum, Touch International CEO and co-founder.

Getz recently served as a Technology Advisor for a joint venture “startup” with Optera/TPK Solutions manufacturing touch panels in Xiamen, China. Throughout her career, Getz has held numerous senior-level positions to include, Product Manager, Product Development Manager, as well as Vice President Product Development. Her expertise in functional films and glass fabrication has lead to nine US patents, with several patents pending in the field of touchscreen enhancements. Getz is a seasoned professional with 25+ years of experience in manufacturing, product and business development in both domestic and international markets.

TI’s China factories manufacture Apple iPhone-type projected capacitive touch screens, resistive sensors and glass filter products used in touch screens, EMI, anti-reflective or anti-vandal filters.
