Austin, Texas, Jan 31, 2024 – Touch International (TI), a leading global manufacturer of industrial touchscreen and embedded display solutions, has released its newly redesigned 15.6-inch open-frame projected capacitive (PCAP) touchscreen monitor. The Generation 3 configurations feature lightweight yet durable construction with the latest USB-C touchscreen controller technology.

The 15.6-inch open-frame touchscreen monitor features a 1920×1080 full high-definition display with a 178-degree wide viewing angle in portrait or landscape mode. The display supports 16.7 million colors and operates at a 0° to + 60° C temperature range, suitable for various indoor applications. The industrial-grade TFT-LCD features an incorporated edge-type LED backlight with 500 cd/m2 brightness and a contrast ratio of 1200:1 for accurate image reproduction, minimized power consumption, and maximized product life.

“TI’s new Gen 3 designs merge best-in-class durability with premium fit and functionality to meet the demands of product designers, engineers, and integrators across industrial markets,” said Shaun Detmer, Director of Marketing and Product. “With our ability to customize features like cover glass decoration, embedded computers, housing design, and more, TI’s OFX Series offers more value than any competing touch monitors on the market.”

The 10-point PCAP touchscreen features narrow borders and is powered by TI’s latest touch display controller via USB-C 3.0. The new controller simplifies integration by allowing touchscreen control and video input through a single USB cable. Alternatively, the HDMI port enables video input flexibility in applications where USB-C 3.0 ports are unavailable.

The PCAP touchscreen is protected from the elements and sealed to the display with full optical bonding behind TI’s latest cover glass technology, Nippon Glass. This unique glass composition combines the scratch resistance of borosilicate with the breakage protection of chemically strengthened soda lime for maximum durability without added cost and weight.

The lightweight aluminum housing features a brushed black outer bezel that is sealed on the front surface against the touchscreen assembly to resist moisture and dust, ensuring optimal performance for the life of the assembly. Mounting options include rear VESA standard, rear panel mount, and included mounting brackets for ease of integration. On-board OSD controls allow users to adjust brightness, color temperature, contrast ratio, and more, ensuring complete image optimization for any application.

The Gen 3 15.6″ is a plug-and-play solution ready to deploy out of the box with included power, touch, and video cables. TI’s entire OFX Series can also provide an engineering reference design for OEM/ODM customization, giving engineers and integrators complete design freedom with almost every component in the assembly with low NRE fees and MOQs.
